Jane Withers was born on April 12, 1926, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Walter Edward Withers and Lavinia Ruth. She was the only kid of Walter Edward Withers and Lavinia Ruth. Ruth’s ambitions to be an artist had been squashed by her parents.
